The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) is one of only 50 shelters in the nation participating in the 2014 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. The $100K Challenge is a nationwide competition for animal shelters and their communities aimed at getting more animals adopted than ever before.
A medium-sized female 3 year old mixed-breed dog, was brought to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) on June 11 by Animal Control. Sophia was foundwith multiple scars on her face and head and sadly, her lower jaw is missing.
Adopting a shelter dog is truly saving a life. The shelters cannot save animals without support from the community in the form of adoptions, fostering, volunteering and donations.
