Over the next week, SouthBMore.com will be posting development photo tours of all the projects under construction in South Baltimore. This tour features development in Stadium Area, Pigtown, and the SoWeBo neighborhood of Poppleton.

Check out SouthBMore.com’s South Baltimore Development Rundown for information about all the real estate projects under construction, recently completed, or in planning in South Baltimore.

Stadium Area – The Parker Building

Construction is moving along to convert The Parker Building at 333 W. Ostend St. in the Stadium Area of South Baltimore into approximately 50,000 sq. ft. of office space. The building currently has new windows, new sidewalks, and additions on the rear of the building facing Stockholm St.

Pigtown Main Street – 919 West Barre Street

A long-vacant Pigtown Main Street building at 919 W. Barre St. is currently under construction to become a new retail space and two apartments. One of the apartments will have two bedrooms and the other will be a one-bedroom efficiency. Both will have high-end finishes. The retail space will be 1,500 sq. ft. and the building team is hoping to lure a restaurant for it.

Pigtown Main Street – New Facades

Facade improvements were completed on five storefronts on the 700 block of Washington Blvd. The project, which was funded through a facade grant program by the Baltimore Development Corporation, included Fashion Kings, City Tobacco and Vape Outlet, MetroPCS, The Tax Place, and Afro Fashion and Art.

Pigtown Main Street – Suspended Brewing Company

Suspended Brewing Company is finishing up construction of a new 3,000 sq. ft. brewery and tap room at 912 Washington Blvd. The space was formerly home to a church.

Poppleton – Center/West

Construction has begun on the first phase of Center/West in the Poppleton neighborhood of SoWeBo. La Cité Development, based out of New York City, is currently building two new apartment buildings featuring 260 apartments and 15,000 sq. ft. of retail. The building at 201 N. Schroeder St. will feature a park facing the Edgar Allen Poe House and Museum. The park could partially be used as an outdoor dining space for the adjacent retail. The building at 101 N. Schroeder St. will have a dog park.

Center/West is a 10-year project that will bring 1,700-1,800 housing units and 100,000-200,000 sq. ft. of commercial space to vacant lots in Poppleton.

Poppleton – Rehabs

Just around the corner from the first phase of Center/West, many rowhome rehabs are taking place on the 1000 block of W. Fayette St.
