BARCS Launches New Interactive Website

Baltimore, MD- January 29, 2013 — the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) launched their new interactive website at: http://baltimoreanimalshelter.org/.  Completely redesigned, the new website allows you to search all of the BARCS adoptable cats and dogs in real time, view all of the special events that BARCS is hosting, donate to a variety of the shelter’s most critical needs, learn about all the services BARCS offers to the community and much more. With the new “BARCS on the Go” App presented by CareFirst, users can now have instant access to locate and explore any path, park and beach available in the area for you and your dog.

The new BARCS website is designed and hosted by Mission Media, an award-winning creative agency in Baltimore, who did everything pro bono.

BARCS, the largest companion animal shelter in Maryland, takes in almost 12,000 dogs and cats a year, plus nearly 1,000 exotic wildlife and small mammals. A non-profit organization, BARCS has saved over 50,000 animals over the past seven years. On average, 250 animals are living at BARCS, over 200 are being cared for in foster care and roughly 35 new animals arrive at the shelter daily.
